Country music icon Tommy Cash went home to his eternal resting place on Friday, September 13, 2024, at the age of 84.
Cash was born in Dyess, Arkansas, on Friday, April 5, 1940. As a youngster, Tommy was passionate about basketball and received many honors for his excellence. Among them was being a valued member of the All State championship team. He first attended Dyess High School in Dyess, Arkansas, and then later graduated from Treadwell High School of Memphis, Tennessee. During the late 50's and early 60's, Tommy honorably served his country as an Army sergeant and worked as a DJ for the Armed Forces Radio network. In 1965 he got his first record deal with Musicor Records and a year later joined United Artists Records where he made his country music debut. He had a lengthy career in the entertainment industry including Top Ten singles such as "Six White Horses" in 1969, "Rise and Shine" in 1970, and "One Song Away" in 1970. He was an actor, award winning singer and songwriter, well respected businessman and realtor, plus an avid golfer and sports lover. Tommy was the recipient of many honors in numerous fields.
Tommy was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and dedicated friend. He loved all unconditionally and gave all of himself to those he cared about, including his pets. Above all, Tommy loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
