WILLIAM D. PENNINGTON, JR. (DANNY)
Born in Nashville, October 17th,1955.
It is with great sadness and much love that the family announces his peaceful passing at home surrounded by his loved ones on Friday August 15, 2025.
Danny was preceded in death by his father, Bill Pennington and is survived by Mary Ann (Heyn) Pennington, his wife of over 37 years; daughters, Shanon Pennington, Autumn Pennington (Gray), and Summer Pennington (Alex); sons, Edward Pennington (Daniel), Dustin Pennington, and Michael Moore (Elissa); grandchildren, Chelsea Watson (Coy), Dylan Moore, Bentley Pennington, Ethan Pennington, and Dayton Pennington; great-grandson, Timothy Coy Watson; mother, Patricia (Sanders) Pennington; sister, Pam (Edward) Kelley; brother, Jimmy Pennington; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and lastly Pumpkin, his security cat who would never leave his side.
Danny graduated from Hendersonville High School in 1975 and was a life-long resident of Tennessee. Danny’s hobbies helped define who he was. He loved fishing, Nascar, Titans football, riding his motorcycle, audio books and coffee; lots and lots of coffee.
Danny had many accomplishments. Three of the things towards the top of his list that he was proud of are the Koi Pond he helped design, build and maintain. He spent many nights enjoying watching the fish and listening to the frogs croaking on a summer night. Another is that he loved the fact that he took flying lessons and was earning flight hours towards a small aircraft pilot’s license. One of Danny’s fondest memories has always been flying over Saunders Ferry Park and being able to tip his plane’s wings to his family-who hollered and waved wildly below as he flew over. Finally, Danny was immensely proud of his work as a Field Service Engineer for KRC Machine Tool Solutions. He made many good friends there and spoke highly of his co-workers and management - especially Brian who Danny considered his buddy. Danny loved to show everyone pictures of the work he did and the huge machinery he was able to repair.
The family finds comfort in that Danny is leaving behind wonderful memories for his family and friends, all of whom will miss him greatly. He was a wonderful loving husband and the greatest father his children could ask for. He was a good friend and a great co-worker, always willing to help when needed.
