William Thomas Whittle, affectionately known as Will, was born on June 3, 1980, in Nashville, Tennessee. He departed this world peacefully after a brief illness on June 7, 2025. A 1998 graduate of Hendersonville High School, Will's life was marked by humor, kindness, and an unwavering acceptance of others.
Will was well known for his quick wit and his 4-inch mohawk. His personality shone brightly as he connected with everyone around him, embracing people from all walks of life. He had a diverse circle of friends and possessed a charisma that made him the life of any gathering. Will's intelligence complemented his jovial spirit, and he was always eager to lend a helping hand to those in need. A true testament to his character, he loved people as they were and cherished their uniqueness.
As an avid Lakers fan, Will found joy in both playing and watching basketball. He also loved Chicago Cubs baseball and was a Cubs fan for life. However, his proudest accomplishments were his children. Will loved his children more than anything in the world and took immense pride in being a devoted father. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Kari Whittle, and his cherished children, Mak Whittle, Layla Akin, Madylin Akin, Nolan Akin, and Jack Whittle. Additionally, he is survived by his parents, Randy and Selena Whittle; and his brother, R.D. Whittle. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Betty and R.D. Whittle and Fred and Jane Lehner.
Friends and family will gather to celebrate Will's life at Sumner Funeral & Cremation Lakeside in Hendersonville, TN. A visitation will be held on June 24, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. It is in these moments, surrounded by loved ones, that Will’s vibrant spirit will be felt most strongly, reminding all of us how precious and fleeting life can be.
Will’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him, a shining example of kindness, laughter, and love. His legacy will continue through the laughter of friends, the joy of family, and the cherished memories created over a lifetime of moments we will hold dear.
